The HKIE CPD Definition
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a systematic maintenance, improvement and broadening of relevant knowledge and skills, and the development of these qualities necessary for successfully carrying out professional duties throughout an engineer's career. It aims at enhancing individual worth, and thus corporate performance.

Role of HKIE

The HKIE policy recognizes that HKIE should act as a CPD co-ordinator and facilitator in the way to better serve its members.

The Continuing Professional Development Committee reviews course proposals on subjects of common interest to engineers from course providers on their suitability to HKIE members of different disciplines. Courses recommended by the Committee are promoted to members on HKIE website under “Continuing Professional Development Courses” and the HKIE Journal.
