An internal list of the HKIE Arbitrators and Mediators

Call for Applications

Background

In view of the increasing number of requests for referral of arbitrators and/or mediators who are HKIE members, the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee (the Committee) realises the need of an internal list of HKIE Arbitrators and/or Mediators to be constructed to facilitate the referral process should requests for referral be received in future.

Requirements

To be eligible for inclusion on the internal list of HKIE Arbitrators and Mediators, the applicant shall be required to:

-
be a HKIE Corporate Member; and
-
be a Fellow of other related professional institution, eg CIArb or HKIArb; and/or
-
have relevant experiences in arbitration / mediation / other dispute resolution mechanisms; and/or
-
have relevant professional training; and/or
-
have high command of respect in the industry and/or the society and/or with judicial qualities

Applications

Applications are welcome throughout the year. All the information provided will be treated in strictest confidence. Assessment Process

The Assessment Process of new applications, together with the review on the internal list of HKIE Arbitrators and Mediators will be taken bi-annually by the ADR Committee. For your information, the next Assessment Process is scheduled for the end of April 2008.

Note: The Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre maintained a Panel of Arbitrators whereby interested HKIE members may apply (free of charge) through http://www.hkiac.org.
