| The HKIE overseas chapters are set up with an
aim to foster a spirit of friendly collaboration amongst members residing
in overseas and to encourage them to maintain a close link with the Institution.
Learned society activities are organised by the chapters for members in
the respective countries.
The Institution has already set up chapters in Canada, the UK and Australia.
Whilst the UK Chapter and Australian Chapter are newly set up by the Institution
in the 2002/2003 Session, the Canadian Chapter has been running for more
than four years and has organised various activities, in particular technical
meetings, for their members. Some of their reports of activities have
been published in the Journal.
