Chairman's
Message
We held our Annual General Meeting on 5 May
2007 and the committee started its session with its first meeting
on 5 July 2007. Apart from regular technical meetings and site
visits, the features of the coming session are as follows:

Annual General Meeting |
The Structural Division is closely associated
with the IStructE through common membership and a mutual recognition
agreement. This relationship will be strengthened in coming days
through joint efforts. The IStructE is celebrating its 100 years
and will hold its Centenary Conference in Hong Kong and we are
very proud to be the core organiser of the event under the leadership
of Ir Dr H K Cheng. Resources will be devoted to making the conference
a success and a memorable one for all of us.
The other initiative we are undertaking is
the examination of re-opening of membership examination in Hong
Kong. Ir K K CHOY, the Past Chairman, leads a committee on this
and will report its findings and recommendations.
We welcome suggestions about future topics
of technical meetings, places of site visits and the theme of
the coming annual seminar. Please visit our website and post your
comments. The Division Committee will facilitate the sharing of
knowledge, enhancement of skills and broadening of perspectives
amongst its members.
