Indeed, it is a great pleasure to be the Chairman of Safety Specialist Committee. During the past years, I was able to work closely with Ir Dr WONG King, Immediate Past Chairman, Ir Dr Vincent HO, Past Chairman and other Committee members for many memorable events i.e. PSAM9, Guangxi Delegation, Annual Dinners etc., which took place in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. Most of the events were well supported by prominent official/professional/academic/learned society institutions such as Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, Guangxi Association for Science & Technology, Electrical Engineering Department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, IVE (Chai Wan), IVE (MH), IVE (HW), Hong Kong College of Technology, CUBE, Guangxi Polytechnic, Association of Engineering Professionals, Hong Kong Institute of Utility Specialists, Utility Training Institute, Institute of Measurement & Control (HK), HKARMS, IOSH, Guangdong Automation Association, Shenzhen Instrument & Control Society, Shenzhen Automation Association and Macau Institute of Engineers. Without doubt, the support from our Immediate Past President Ir Dr W K LO, Control, Automation and Instrumentation Division, Environmental Division, Gas & Energy Division, Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture & Chemical Division, Young Members Committee and Associate Members Committee have definitely been encouraging.

Exceeding the expectation of our stakeholders is one of our major objectives. As mentioned, we have successfully launched a series of meaningful events for our members. However, improvement on a continual basis is always our attitude for furnishing the professional services to our members and the engineering professions at large.

Last but not least, I must highlight that all the achievements could not be duly honoured without the unfailing supports from the Committee members and helpers. May I lobby for your active participation in the coming Session, please?
