Chairman's
Message
Communicative Accommodative
Innovative
Our past chairman, at the Reception Cocktail
of the 20th Anniversary of the Control, Automation
& Instrumentation (CA) Division held last March,
reiterated the importance of being able to Connect all members
of the Division, to Actuate a new series of activities for the
Division and to Inspire both the experienced and young engineers
to continue to contribute to the development of the CA technologies.
Having gone through twenty years of gradual
development, the division has reached a stage whereby new bloods
with new and innovative ideas are desperately needed so as to
keep up with the momentum of continuous improvement and expansion.
One of the key objectives for this Session is to re-connect members
of the Division so as to build up a much stronger network comprising
CA engineers and experts from the industry, academic institutions
and the government departments. We would also do our best to establish
stronger links with our sister divisions within HKIE as well as
with those related institutions, both in Hong Kong and in Mainland
China. This, as we believe, would certainly bring in lots of benefits
and opportunities to our fellow members.
This year we have set forth the following
targets for the Division:
| Key Objectives |
Targets to achieve |
| Members' Growth |
By 5% at the end of the Session |
| Connectivity / Networking
among CA Division Members |
At least two networking
functions during the session |
| Collaboration with other HKIE
divisions and both local as well as overseas Institutions |
At least four joint
seminars / talks with other divisions / institutions |
| Collaboration with Institutions
in Mainland China |
At least two visits
made to related Institutions in Mainland China and vice versa |
There will be a full programme of activities
lying ahead of us and they all aim to provide a forum for us to
meet old friends as well as new faces in sharing our experience
in the field of Control, Automation and Instrumentation.
We look forward to talking to you in some of
the Division events to be held in the coming months.
