1. Formal
Training Programmes Leading to Associate Membership -- 1 June 2005
We are pleased that the Q&M Board at its
meeting held on 1 March 2005 approved the establishment of a formal
training route as one of the routes to Associate Membership. Candidates
under a formal training programme are eligible to take Professional
Interview for Associate Members after completion of the formal training
programme. This will convey a distinct advantage to candidates under
a formal training programme as they will need two years rather than
three years in acquiring sufficient experiences towards taking Professional
Interview for Associate Members. Formal training programmes are
first established in three pioneer disciplines, i.e. Building Services,
Civil and Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Disciplines.
The Training Committee is in the process of actively
procuring training organisations in providing formal training programmes
for graduates of Higher Diploma or equivalent programmes accredited/
recognised by the Institution. You are invited to watch out for
further details that are going to be published in the Journal and
the HKIE website at www.hkie.org.hk.
