The HKIE adopts the "intake year" basis, i.e. a programme is accredited up to the students intake of a particular year, normally in the September of that year.

HD	=	Higher Diploma
FT	=	Full time mode
PT	=	Part time mode
PTE	=	Part time evening mode
PTD	=	Part time day mode
Provisional	=	Accredited provisionally until the first cohort of graduates. Full accreditation will be considered following a full visit afterwards.

Note :	(1)	This programme was accredited by the HKIE starting from Intake year 2001.
	(2)	This programme has been phased out after the last intake in 2001.
	(3)	The last intake of this programme should be in the year 2006.

	(5)	The Higher Diploma in Applied Optics (HDAO) (3-year FT)(91377) programme was introduced in 2002 and has been changed to Higher Diploma in Applied Optics (4-year FT)(91377F) from intake year 2006 and onwards. The 3-year HDAO (91377) programme would be phased out in 2008.
	(6)	The Higher Diploma in Horological Science & Technology (HDHST) (3-year FT)(91378) programme was introduced in 2003 and has been changed to Higher Diploma in Horological Science & Technology (4-year FT)(91378F) from intake year 2006 and onwards. The 3-year HDHST (91378) programme would be phased out in 2008.
	(7)	This programme has to phase out after the last intake in 2003.
	(8)	This programme was formerly known as HD in Web-based Technology for Business (3-Year) (FT) up to Intake year 2004.
	(9)	The first intake of this programme was made in 2001. Provisional accreditation to this programme was extended to cover the cohort of graduates in 2004.

In Tuen Mun Campus, the Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering (3-year FT)(51301) programme was accredited by the HKIE from intake year 2002 up to intake year 2003 as the programme ceased its student intake with effect from the 2004/2005 academic year.
	(23)	This programme was evolved from the Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering (3-year FT) (51301) with effect from intake year 2006.
	(24)	This programme was changed to a market-fee programme from intake year 2004. The previous programme code was 55301.
	(25)	The Higher Diploma in Computer Systems Administration (3-year FT) (41300) programme was introduced in 1999 in Tsing Yi Campus and has been changed to Higher Diploma in Computer Systems Administration (4-year FT)(41900F) from intake year 2006 and onwards. The 3-year FT programme (41300) was also offered in Morrison Hill and Tuen Mun Campuses starting from intake year 2005 and evolved to 4-year FT programme (41900F) from intake year 2006.
	(26)	This programme is now offered in Tsing Yi Campus only. In Tuen Mun Campus, the programme was accredited by the HKIE from intake year 2002 up to intake year 2006.
	(27)	This programme was introduced in 1999 and has been changed to HD in Electrical Engineering (4-year FT) (71301F) from intake year 2006 and onwards. This programme has been phased out after the last intake in 2005.
	(28)	This programme was converted to HD in Environmental Engineering and Energy Management (Energy Management Services Stream) (3-year Full Time) (71313) with effect from the Intake year 2005.
	(29)	This programme was introduced in 1999 and has been changed to HD in Mechanical Engineering (4-year FT) (91301F) from intake year 2006 and onwards. This programme has been phased out after the last intake in 2005.
		This programme previously included 3 streams of study, namely: CAD/CAE, Transport Technology and Environmental Protection and currently, there are 4 streams of study, namely: CAD/CAE, Transport Technology, Mechatronics and Mechanical Services. The CAD/CAE Stream and Mechatronics Stream are offered in HKIVE (Tuen Mun) while the Transport Technology Stream and Mechanical Services Stream are offered in HKIVE (Tsing Yi).
	(30)	This programme is offered in both Tsing Yi and Tuen Mun Campuses and was evolved from HD in Mechanical Engineering (3-year FT) (91301) from intake year 2006 and onwards.
	(31)	This programme is offered in both Tsing Yi and Tuen Mun Campuses.
	(32)	This programme consists of 2 streams of study, namely: General Services and Heating Ventilation & Air-Conditioning Services. Last intake of this programme in Tsing Yi Campus was in 2003. Starting from Intake year 2004, the programme is run in Department of Real Estate & Facility Management of Morrison Hill Campus while existing students of Tsing Yi Campus would complete their study in Tsing Yi Campus.
		This 3-year FT Building Services programme in Morrison Hill Campus has been changed to HD in Building Services Engineering (4-year FT) (91302F) from intake year 2006 and onwards and has been phased out after the last intake in 2005.
	(33)	Starting from the Intake year 2004, the offering Department of this programme has been transferred to the Department of Real Estate & Facility Management of HKIVE (Morrison Hill) from the Department of Engineering of HKIVE (Tsing Yi).
	(34)	Starting from the Intake year 2004, the managing Department of this programme had been changed from the Department of Engineering (Tsing Yi Campus) to the Department of Real Estates and Facilities Management (Morrison Hill Campus). In addition, the last intake of this programme in Tsing Yi Campus was in 2003 and starting from intake year 2004 and onwards, the students were admitted to the programme at Morrison Hill Campus only. The programme has to phase out after the last intake in 2006.
	(35)	This programme was evolved from HD in Intelligent Buildings and Automation Engineering (2-year FT) (Subvented: 71306A; Market Fee: 71906A) with the first intake of students in 2006.
	(36)	This programme was evolved to HD in Creative Toy and Intelligent Product Design (3-year Full Time) (61388) with effect from the Intake year 2005.

Sydney Accord Applicability Notes :-

(i)	Programme implemented without differentiation in two different jurisdictions, each with accrediting bodies who are full signatories to the Accord: Accreditation/recognition of the off-shore implementation of the programme will be undertaken on a collaborative basis, initiated by the signatory of the jurisdiction in which the programme is headquartered. The offshore implementation must satisfy the accreditation/recognition criteria and requirements of both signatories.
(ii)	Differentiated Programme offered within the jurisdiction of a full signatory: Accreditation/recognition of the off-shore programme offering must be undertaken by the signatory of the jurisdiction in which the programme is delivered in consultation with the signatory of the jurisdiction in which the provider is headquartered.
(iii)	Undifferentiated or Differentiated Programme offered within a non-Accord jurisdiction: Accreditation/recognition of the off-shore programme offering must be undertaken by the signatory of the jurisdiction in which the programme is headquartered.
