Chairman's Message

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all my supporters, especially our Immediate Past Chairman Ir C S CHANG, who nominated and elected me as the Chairman of Control, Automation & Instrumentation (CAI) Division for Session 2008/2009. I am most honour to serve the Division, which has been well established for 22 years. To begin with, I would like to address the following strategic plans, which will be initiated in the coming months for the betterment of the Division and its members:

1. Enhancing Communication between the Academics and the Industry
   It is planned to promote and advance the control, automation and instrumentation industry in the community. Appointing divisional ambassadors to universities, technical institutions and multi-international corporations not only will help recruit new members but will also enhance the communication between the academics and the industry.
   
   
2. Organising Overseas and Mainland China visits
   It is planned to act as a bridge to link up Hong Kong, Mainland China and Overseas so as to broaden the horizons of our members. Through visiting major Asian cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and Seoul, our members would develop their networks and acquire knowledge on technical know-how.
   
   
3. Organising Joint Events with Other Local Technical Institutions
   It is planned to appoint coordinators to work closely with related local technical institutions so as to facilitate co-operations among different engineering disciplines and industries.

Among other regular activities, the implementation of these strategic plans will be reinforced and strengthened with the support from a group of fellow engineers whom I am indulged and grateful to work with all the time. Thank you.
