Waste
Management has become one of the key issues of
the modern world, an international issue that
is intensified by the volume and complexity of
domestic and industrial waste.
There is a need for more research
on current disposal methods such as landfills,
incineration, and chemical treatment, but also
on recycling, waste minimization, clean technologies,
waste monitoring, public and corporate awareness
and general education.
The purpose of the Conference
is to advance the understanding and application
of civil engineering with respect to sustainable
development in general, and environmental and
waste engineering and management in particular,
and to promote the exchange of technical, scientific
and professional knowledge on waste engineering
and management to better serve the interests and
welfare of the public.
