Combating climate change is a vitally important issue across the globe. 195 countries adopted the first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal – “The Paris Agreement”, reached in December 2015 in Paris. The agreement sets out a long-term goal of holding the increase in global average temperatures to well below 2°C and pursuing efforts to limit this to just 1.5°C above preindustrial levels. It also calls upon the participating countries to cooperate with the private sector, civil society, financial institutions, cities and regions in order to mobilise stronger and more ambitious climate action across the globe.
The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers is honoured and privileged to host the International Council on Electrical Engineering (ICEE) Conference in July 2023. This important gathering has been held every year for experts, policy makers and practitioners in academia, industry and government, as well as engineering students to share experiences, knowledge and innovative ideas in the field of electrical engineering since 1995. The theme of the ICEE Conference 2023 is “Frontiers in Carbon Neutrality Power and Energy”. The Conference Committee will assemble authoritative keynote speeches, technical sessions and special technical sessions to make the event an excellent opportunity to meet our goals via the platform of ICEE Conference 2023.
The vibrant inter-flow of knowledge is a hallmark of Hong Kong and has propelled its development into one of the world’s great cosmopolitan cities. With your participation, I am confident the ICEE Conference 2023 will be successful as a major event in the development of electrical engineering with a memorable experience for your visit.
Looking forward to meeting you warmly at the ICEE Conference 2023!
