reference to the term "graduates", "graduate trainees",
"Engineering Graduate Training Scheme 'A' trainees", or "Graduate
Members" or the like are referring to those "Graduate Members
of the HKIE who meet the academic requirements for Member in a Discipline.

Trainee of the Year Award
The Trainee of the Year Award is an open competition
for all Scheme "A" trainees. In the same way as all awards this
particular award is designed to stimulate an interest in various aspects
considered by the HKIE of importance. The aim being to motivate young
engineers related to their development of a professional attitude.
As you will see by the application form (which
can be obtained from 'Downloads') the award is independent of
the company as trainees are expected to indicate the particular
aspects of:
Achievement and contribution to training
Achievement and contribution to The HKIE
Achievement and contribution to Hong
Kong Society
Personal vision and mission for
future engineering profession and career plan
A maximum of 3 winners will be selected, winners will
get :
1st Prize $10,000 (in terms of 3 years Annual Subscription Fee and Cash)
2nd Prize $8,000 (in terms of 3 years Annual Subscription Fee and Cash)
3rd Prize $6,000 (in terms of 3 years Annual Subscription Fee and Cash) and
A "Trainee of the Year Award" Certificate
Winners' companies will also be rewarded a trophy,
a special feature on the winners of the award as well as on their
companies will be published in the 'Hong Kong Engineer' Journal.
