Enrolment Procedures, General Information and Tax Allowances
1. Standard Enrolment
Procedures
Complete the Standard
Reply Form enclosing the appropriate course fee by a crossed
cheque made payable to "The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers " and:
(A)
send a postal application to the HKIE for the
attention of the Training & Development Section, OR
(B)
apply in person during
office hours at the HKIE Headquarters

Note: 1. Fees are not refundable unless under
exceptional circumstances and as statutorily provided. 2. Applicants
are permitted to transfer to another course only if the course
they applied for is over-subscribed or cancelled. In such case,
prior approval from the HKIE must be obtained.
Admission
In case of dispute, admission will be at the discretion
of the HKIE.
Entry to a course is on a first-come, first-served
basis or otherwise specified. The HKIE will inform the successful
applicants by the Letter of Confirmation. The HKIE will arrange
to refund course fees to unsuccessful applicants.
2. Classes
Participants are required to bring along their Letter of Confirmation when attending the first class.
Courses will be conducted in the Language as advertised.
Courses will be held at the time and place as advertised. Participants will be informed in case of changes.
The HKIE reserves the right to make alterations regarding the time, place, instructor and content of courses offered when necessary. In case of insufficient enrolment, the HKIE reserves the right to cancel a course.
No classes will be held on Public holidays, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and Lunar New Year's Eve unless special arrangements are made.
If the black rainstorm warning or the typhoon signal No. 8 or above is hoisted at the following hours, classes held at the HKIE Headquarters will be suspended as below:

of the arrangement for re-attending the class.
Rules and Regulations
The HKIE may exclude anyone from class if his/her
behaviour disturbs the class or if he/she does not follow
the instruction in class or as laid down by the HKIE.
No food and drink is allowed in class and smoking
is prohibited in the HKIE area.
3. Tax Allowances for courses
Fees incurred by members of the HKIE in attending
short courses relating to CPD will qualify for the Tax Allowance.
