Provisional = Accredited provisionally until the first cohort of graduates. Full accreditation will be considered following a full visit afterwards.
*** The HKIE accredits all computer science programmes in accordance with the Accreditation Criteria for Computer Science Programmes which intends to meet the standards of the Seoul Accord. Programmes may carry different titles but the same outcomes standards are required to be observed.
Note:
(1) Computer Science programmes accredited by the HKIE shall meet the academic requirements for Member of the HKIE in the Information Discipline.
(2) This programme was formerly known as BSc (Hons) Degree in Computer Studies up to Intake year 1999 and accredited by the HKIE under the accreditation criteria for engineering degree programmes up to Intake year 2001. Starting from Intake year 2002, this programme is accredited by the HKIE under the accreditation criteria for computer science programmes.
(3) This programme was accredited by the HKIE starting from Intake year 2004.
(4) This programme was accredited by the HKIE starting from Intake year 2004.
(5) This programme was evolved from BA (Hons) Degree in Computing (FT and SW) with effect from the Intake year 2005.
(6) This double degree programme was formerly known as BSc (Hons) Degree in Computing (FT and SW) under the Double Degree leading to BSc (Hons) in Computing and BBA (Hons) in Management up to Intake year 2008.
(7) This programme was accredited by the HKIE starting from Intake year 1998. The programme has been phased out with the last intake in 2004 and was evolved to BSc (Hons) Degree in Computing (FT and SW) with effect from the Intake year 2005.
(8) This programme was accredited by the HKIE starting from Intake year 2011.
(9) The accreditation status also covers the single Intake class in 2012 of the BSc (Hons) Degree in Computer Science (Full Time) (4-year programme) admitting mainly Hong Kong A-level students as "Advanced Standing I" under a separate JUPAS code.
(10) There was only one intake cohort in 2012 for this double degree programme.
(11) Under the 3-year undergraduate education, a Minor option offered by the Faculties of Arts, Business and Economics, Science, and Social Sciences was made available for students of this programme starting from 2005, and Second Major option offered by the Faculty of Science was also made available starting from academic year 2008/09.
(12) Under the 3-year undergraduate education, the 4-year double degree in BEng/BBA which was administered by the Faculty of Engineering was offered starting from academic year 2007/08.
(^) Based on the changes of education system to "3-3-4" in Hong Kong, the first intake of these programmes was in 2012.
(^^) Since 2012, Hong Kong has restructured its undergraduate education from three to four years.
