(香港，6月29日) 香港工程師學會(學會)欣然公佈朱沛坤教授、工程師於2010年6月28日舉行的第35屆會員周年大會上榮任第36屆會長。陳嘉正博士、工程師則任期屆滿，成為上任會長。工程專業建構社會Newly Installed HKIE President Ir Prof Reuben Chu Pui Kwan

新任會長朱教授、工程師力求於任內與會員共同努力，為學會以至社會謀求發展與福祉，共創更美好的明天。
朱會長強調工程專業建構社會將會是學會本年度的前進方針。學會將致力提高大眾對工程專業的認識。朱會長提到︰「今年其中一個目標是要讓市民大眾多加認識我們的工作，了解我們為建構一個更美好的香港所付出的努力。為了回應早前馬頭圍道發生的樓宇倒塌事件，我們已成立了「樓宇結構安全專責小組」，並將製作影片及小冊子，以教育香港市民有關樓宇結構安全的知識。現在是時候提升大眾對工程師及工程專業的認知。」
朱會長憑著其豐富的管理經驗，以及對工程專業的承諾與熱忱，必定能夠在其任期內帶領學會繼續邁步向前，並持續發揮優質工程專業，攜手建構更美好的社會。
在周年大會中，陳福祥博士、工程師及蔡健權工程師亦獲選連任為副會長，而陳健碩工程師則獲大會推選為新任副會長。

(Hong Kong, 29 June 2010) The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (The HKIE) is pleased to announce the installation of Ir Prof Reuben Chu Pui-kwan as the 36th President for Session 2010/2011 at The HKIE 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 28 June 2010. Ir Dr Andrew Chan Ka-ching has become the Immediate Past President.
Ir Prof Chu, the newly installed President, is committed to working hand in hand with members to achieve their common goals for the benefit and advancement of the Institution and the community.
Ir Prof Chu highlighted that engineering the community will be the theme for the Institution for the year ahead. He emphasised that the Institution will strive to enhance the visibility of the engineering profession to the public. "One of our aims in the coming year will be to make the public more aware of our work and of our efforts on behalf of the community in which we live to make Hong Kong an ever better place to call home. In response to the tragic collapse of a building in To Kwa Wan earlier this year, we had set up a 'Task Force on Structural Safety in Buildings' and will produce educational video and booklet to educate the public on building safety in Hong Kong. It is time for us engineers to introduce ourselves to the community and make our voices heard." Ir Prof Chu remarked.
With his extensive management experience, strong commitment and enthusiasm in serving the engineering profession, Ir Prof Chu is well positioned in leading the Institution to sustain excellence in engineering the community in his term of presidency.
The AGM also announced that Ir Dr Chan Fuk-cheung and Ir Choy Kin-kuen were successfully re-elected as the Vice Presidents and Ir Raymond K S Chan was elected the new Vice President in this Session.
